Founded in 1914 as a bridge design firm, HNTB has developed a reputation for excellence and innovation in the infrastructure industry. In our earliest days, HNTB designed the first modern turnpike and a significant portion of the Interstate Highway System. Disciplines: HNTB has extensive engineering expertise in the fields of transportation engineering, roadway design, rail, structural (building and bridge) design, geotechnical engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, environmental permitting, traffic engineering and signal design, Architecture, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), right-of-way (ROW) and land acquisition, as well as mechanical and electrical engineering.
