Engineering Excellence Awards

The American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey's annual Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) competition recognizes and celebrates engineering achievements that demonstrate the highest degree of skill and ingenuity among firms throughout the state of New Jersey.  Engineering firms enter their most innovative projects and studies into ACECNJ's annual Engineering Excellence Awards program (EEA)—"the Academy Awards of the engineering industry"—which honors the year’s most exceptional engineering accomplishments.

The goal of ACECNJ’s Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) program is to convey to New Jersey’s engineering and construction industry, government officials, the media and the general public, the contributions that engineering firms make to society and to their local communities through outstanding design and construction. In addition, engineering firms have an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of enlightened clients, and to recognize individuals who have provided the innovative thinking and leadership that make a project successful. 

Each year a distinguished panel of judges representing a cross section of New Jersey’s industry, government, academia and media, assemble to rank the project submissions on engineering excellence. Projects entered into New Jersey’s EEA competition are rated on the basis of uniqueness and innovative applications; future value to the engineering profession; perception by the public; social, economic, and sustainable development considerations; complexity; and successful fulfillment of client/owner's needs, including schedule and budget. Projects that are winners at state level Engineering Excellence Awards competitions are eligible for ACEC's national Engineering Excellence Awards competition.
